frequently asked questions
Do you have experience with
this kind of project?
Yes, we have a team of skilled tradesmen who have done everything from fixing plumbing leaks to building new homes from the ground up. With over 100 years of combined experience, we bring expertise to every project.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, we strive to be the best in the business, which means doing everything by the book. Our insurance alone is double the state minimum requirement. We take pride in caring for our clients and team members.
Do you use sub-contractors?
Yes, at times we will use subcontractors for parts of the projects such as excavation, concrete and block work, larger framing projects, roofing and siding, and most exterior work. Our sheetrock teams are subcontractors, but the majority of the work that is done in your home is completed by the team at Kairos Construction Group.
Who will be working on my project?
Each project is assigned an “owner” who is responsible for every aspect of the job. These “owners” are team members with the experience and expertise to oversee and execute the work. We use a lead carpenter model rather than a project manager model, meaning your project leader both oversees the project and wears a toolbelt. They typically spend 40% of their time actively working on-site and 60% managing and training team members, coordinating schedules, ensuring materials are on-site, and keeping the job on budget and on time. We avoid using subcontractors whenever possible to maintain tight schedules and ensure our quality standards are met.
Am I able to hire or do my own work?
We prefer to handle all aspects of the project. Managing 100% of the project helps us stay on track, on budget, and free of delays. Our top priority is delivering an extraordinary experience with a meticulous finish from our well-qualified, vetted team. When we take on a project, we assume full responsibility for the final outcome. For this reason, we respectfully decline projects where work is shared with the homeowner.
Will my home get dirty?
Yes, there are times when your home will be affected by the construction. However, we go to great lengths to maintain a clean and presentable job site. We use zip walls, drop cloths, floor protection, and a brand-new, never-before-used shop vac with a HEPA filter on every project, and we clean up at the end of each day. Despite all these efforts, however, there is no way to guarantee that construction dust won’t get past our barriers.
