Bearden Home Renovation Creates More Space for Living and Entertaining

Bearden Whole-Home Renovation and Kitchen Expansion

Located in Bearden, this whole-home renovation was driven by the way the homeowners wanted to live. They wanted more room to entertain, a kitchen that could comfortably handle family and friends, better access to their outdoor spaces, and updates that made the entire home more functional.

Working from plans by Lauderdale Design Group, Kairos Construction Group completed an extensive Bearden home renovation that included a home addition, full kitchen remodel, half bath renovation, new hardwood flooring, exterior remodeling, and a major deck renovation.

Like many projects involving established Knoxville homes, this renovation went beyond updating finishes. The changes reshaped how the homeowners could use their home, especially when hosting and spending time with family and friends.

    Kitchen Remodeling and Home Addition

The kitchen was at the center of this Knoxville home remodeling project.

The original footprint limited room for cooking, storage, gathering, and entertaining. To change that, we constructed a new addition that significantly expanded the kitchen footprint and gave the homeowners the space they needed to host more comfortably.

This Bearden kitchen renovation involved substantial structural work. Portions of the existing home were reframed, skylights were removed, roof decking was replaced, and the roofline was rebuilt to integrate the addition with the existing structure.

New windows were installed on either side of the range to bring more natural light into the kitchen. The existing sliding glass door was also relocated, creating a better connection between the kitchen and deck and making it easier for people to move between indoor and outdoor gathering spaces.

Inside, the original kitchen was completely removed and rebuilt. The Knoxville kitchen remodel included new cabinetry, hardware, millwork, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, electrical work, and appliance installation. The countertop material was also carried onto the backsplash for a clean, cohesive finish.

New hardwood flooring was installed throughout the kitchen, dining room, foyer, powder room, hallway, and living room, helping connect the kitchen with the other main gathering spaces.

The finished kitchen now offers better lighting, more workspace and storage, improved circulation, and plenty of room for people to gather without getting in the way of meal preparation. It works better for everyday life while giving the homeowners the space they wanted for entertaining.

    Half Bath Renovation

The half bath also received a complete renovation as part of the larger Knoxville whole-home remodel.

Existing finishes and fixtures were removed, and the bathroom was updated with a new vanity, plumbing fixtures, flooring, wall finishes, lighting, electrical improvements, and ventilation.

While smaller in scale than the kitchen, the bathroom renovation was an important part of the project. For homeowners who wanted to entertain more often, having a refreshed and comfortable bathroom for guests was another practical improvement that made the home better suited for hosting.

Bearden Deck Renovation and Outdoor Living

Expanding the home’s entertaining space did not stop at the kitchen.

The deck was another major part of this Bearden remodeling project. The existing structure needed functional and structural attention, including joists showing early signs of wood rot.

The deck renovation included new pressure-treated deck boards and a new railing system. One staircase was removed, the remaining access was rebuilt, and the overall shape of the deck was streamlined. The design was also adjusted to accommodate a ramp near the HVAC area.

Beneath the deck, the existing water management system was replaced to help keep the area below dry and usable.

Existing gas lines and site conditions also had to be considered when determining the final design. Renovating established Knoxville homes often requires this kind of flexibility as existing conditions are uncovered during construction.

Combined with the relocated sliding glass door, the completed Knoxville deck renovation created a much stronger connection between the kitchen and backyard. Guests can move more naturally between the interior and exterior, giving the homeowners additional room when entertaining and a more functional outdoor living space for everyday use.

    Exterior Remodeling

Because the kitchen addition changed the footprint of the house, the exterior also received significant updates to make the new construction feel cohesive with the original home.

Roof decking was replaced where the skylights had been removed, and the new roof structure was tied into the existing home. New siding, soffits, and gutters were incorporated into the addition, while siding in other areas was repaired or extended.

The team also addressed siding, flashing, and water protection around the chimney to help prevent future moisture intrusion.

Stone veneer added architectural detail to the exterior, while exterior painting, new lighting sconces, replacement garage doors, and an updated front entry completed the transformation.

For an exterior renovation in Knoxville, the goal is not only improving curb appeal. Roofing, drainage, flashing, siding, and other exterior improvements also play an important role in protecting the home for years to come.

A Home Designed for Everyday Life and Entertaining

The biggest goal of this Knoxville home renovation was to make the house work better for the way these homeowners wanted to live.

The expanded kitchen created more room for cooking and gathering. The new layout improved movement between the kitchen and surrounding living spaces. The relocated sliding door strengthened the connection to the deck, while the deck renovation expanded the home’s usable entertaining space. The renovated half bath and continuous hardwood flooring helped bring everything together.

Kairos managed these elements as one coordinated whole-home renovation, including structural construction, exterior remodeling, kitchen cabinetry, bathroom finishes, hardwood flooring, electrical, plumbing, millwork, and final details.

The result is a Bearden home that feels more open, connected, and useful. The homeowners now have more room to invite people over, cook for a crowd, move easily between indoor and outdoor spaces, and spend time together without being limited by the original layout.

Those same improvements make everyday life better, with more kitchen workspace, improved storage and lighting, easier movement through the home, and outdoor areas that are more accessible and functional.

  • Lenoir City Remodel: From Water Damage to a Beautiful Bathroom retreat

Lenoir City Remodel: From Water Damage to a Beautiful Bathroom retreat

One of our favorite parts of remodeling is seeing a space completely transformed—not just visually, but functionally as well.

This recent Lenoir City bathroom remodel is a perfect example. What was once an aging bathroom with signs of water damage is now a bright, elegant, and timeless space that feels completely at home within the rest of the house.

At Kairos Construction Group, we work with homeowners throughout Knoxville, Maryville, Lenoir City, and the surrounding communities who want more than updated finishes. They want spaces that are thoughtfully designed, expertly built, and crafted to serve their families for years to come.

    Starting with a Strong Foundation

Every successful bathroom renovation begins behind the walls.

When we started this project, the existing bathroom had served the family well for many years, but moisture and daily wear had taken their toll. Before any beautiful finishes could be installed, our team carefully removed the existing tub, shower, flooring, vanity, and fixtures so we could evaluate the condition of the space and address any underlying issues.

By taking the bathroom down to its framework, we were able to repair damaged areas, update plumbing and electrical systems where needed, and ensure the room had a solid foundation for the renovation ahead.

At Kairos, we believe the smartest renovations invest in the structure before the surface. Beautiful finishes only perform well when they are built on quality craftsmanship.

    Reimagining the Space

With the preparation work complete, we began rebuilding the bathroom from the inside out.

The outdated shower and tub were replaced with a stunning custom tiled shower and a freestanding soaking tub that immediately elevate the space. Plumbing was reconfigured to support the new layout, while updated lighting and electrical improvements helped create a brighter and more functional environment.

Throughout the project, we worked carefully to preserve the home’s existing trim details, allowing the renovated bathroom to feel connected to the character of the rest of the home.

The result is a space that feels fresh and modern without losing the warmth and charm that made the home special in the first place.

    The Details Make the Difference

While the larger features naturally draw attention, some of our favorite elements are the details that bring the entire design together.

New tile flooring provides a durable and elegant foundation throughout the room. The custom shower serves as a focal point, featuring carefully selected tile, professional waterproofing, and a sleek frameless glass enclosure.

A new vanity, updated mirrors, and thoughtfully selected plumbing and lighting fixtures add both beauty and everyday functionality.

To create warmth and visual interest, we installed classic wainscoting throughout the bathroom and paired it with wallpaper above. These timeless design elements add personality and character while ensuring the space feels sophisticated rather than trendy.

Every finish was selected to create a bathroom that feels welcoming, comfortable, and built to stand the test of time.

    Built the Kairos Way

Bathroom renovations require coordination between many different trades, including demolition crews, framers, plumbers, electricians, tile installers, painters, and finish carpenters.

Our team managed every phase of this project from start to finish, ensuring that each detail was completed with precision and care. By coordinating the entire process, we help homeowners avoid the stress of managing multiple contractors while maintaining consistent quality throughout the project.

It’s a process designed to provide clarity, communication, and confidence every step of the way.

    More Than a Beautiful Bathroom

One of the greatest benefits of a bathroom renovation like this is the confidence that comes from knowing the space is built to last.

By addressing water damage, updating aging systems, and rebuilding with durable materials, the homeowners now have more than an updated look. They have a bathroom that functions better, feels more comfortable, and fits the way they want to live in their home today.

Thoughtful renovations aren’t just about appearances. They’re about creating spaces that make everyday life easier, more enjoyable, and more aligned with the character of the home itself.

    The Finished Result

Today, this Lenoir City bathroom is almost unrecognizable from where it began.

The custom tiled shower, freestanding tub, elegant finishes, and carefully crafted details have transformed the room into a space that feels luxurious, comfortable, and timeless. More importantly, the hidden issues behind the walls have been addressed, giving the homeowners peace of mind for years to come.

Projects like this remind us why we love what we do. Remodeling isn’t simply about replacing old materials. It’s about helping families create homes that better support the way they live.

If you’re considering a bathroom remodel in Knoxville, Maryville, Lenoir City, or the surrounding East Tennessee area, we’d love to help bring your vision to life.

  • How a Kitchen renovation Transformed This Bearden Home

How a Kitchen renovation Transformed This Bearden Home

Whether it’s a Knoxville, Maryville or Lenoir City kitchen renovation, the most successful projects begin with a clear vision and a thoughtful construction plan. For these Bearden homeowners, the goal was to completely rethink how their kitchen functioned within the home and create a space that felt more open, practical, and connected.

Working from plans developed by Lauderdale Design, Kairos Construction Group transformed an outdated, closed-off kitchen into a spacious gathering space through a substantial addition and full-scale renovation.

Expanding the Kitchen Through a New Home Addition

One of the biggest challenges of the original kitchen was its limited footprint.
To create the space the homeowners envisioned, Kairos Construction built a new addition that significantly expanded the kitchen and improved the overall flow of the home. The project included reframing portions of the existing structure, removing skylights to simplify the roofline, relocating exterior openings, installing new windows, and repositioning the existing sliding glass door to better support the new layout.
These structural changes created the foundation for a completely reimagined kitchen.

    Complete Demolition and Reconstruction

Once the addition was underway, the team completed a full demolition of the existing kitchen.

This allowed every aspect of the space to be rebuilt with intention. New cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, electrical components, millwork, and trim were installed throughout the renovation. The kitchen features custom Amish-built, full-overlay cabinetry paired with professionally fabricated quartz countertops, a matching quartz backsplash, and custom quartz shelving.

The combination of quality materials and skilled craftsmanship helped create a clean, cohesive appearance while maximizing storage and functionality throughout the space.

Several practical features were incorporated into the design, including discreet pop-up outlets in the island and a pull-out mixer shelf that keeps appliances accessible without taking up valuable countertop space.

New Hardwood Flooring Throughout the Home

The renovation extended beyond the kitchen itself.

New hardwood flooring was installed throughout the kitchen, dining room, foyer, hallway, living room, closet, and powder room. Carrying the flooring throughout these connected spaces creates continuity and helps the addition feel like a natural extension of the original home.

    Bringing the Vision to Life

At Kairos Construction Group, many of our Knoxville, Maryville, and Lenoir City kitchen projects begin with the same challenge: homeowners love their location but need their home to function differently. Through strategic additions, thoughtful renovations, and quality craftsmanship, it is often possible to completely transform a space without leaving the neighborhood they love.

This project is a great example of that approach in action.

A well-planned kitchen renovation is about much more than updating finishes. In many homes, the kitchen is one of the most heavily used spaces, and improving its layout can have a significant impact on everyday functionality. Expanding the footprint can create additional workspace, improve traffic flow, increase storage capacity, and make it easier for multiple people to use the kitchen comfortably at the same time.

For these homeowners, the renovation addressed many of those challenges through a larger footprint, improved organization, custom storage solutions, upgraded lighting, and a more efficient layout. The result is a kitchen that not only looks dramatically different but also works better for everyday life.

From the structural work required to expand the footprint of the home to the custom cabinetry, quartz fabrication, flooring installation, electrical updates, plumbing work, and finish carpentry, every phase of the project contributed to the transformation.

Whether you’re considering a Knoxville kitchen remodel, a Maryville kitchen renovation, a Lenoir City kitchen addition, or a complete Knoxville home renovation, investing in the structure, layout, and functionality of a space can dramatically improve how a home performs for years to come.

  • A Bathroom Remodel brings Calm, Comfort, and New Life to West knoxville home

A Bathroom Remodel brings Calm, Comfort, and New Life to West knoxville home

A Bathroom Transformation That Brings Comfort, Beauty, and Lasting Value
We’re excited to share a recent bathroom remodel that reflects exactly what we believe at Kairos Construction: great design doesn’t just change a room, it changes how you live in your home.

This upscale primary bathroom was more than an aesthetic upgrade. It was a complete reimagining of how the space could support daily routines, create moments of quiet, and welcome guests with warmth and hospitality. What once felt dated and ordinary is now a bright, organized, calming retreat that adds real value to this Knoxville home—and sets a strong example of what thoughtful East Tennessee home renovation can look like.

A Space Designed for Comfort and Serenity
Every element of this remodel was chosen to bring order, beauty, and peace into everyday life. We rebuilt closets for better storage and flow, installed heated floors for warmth underfoot, and added all-new cabinets, lighting, finishes, and fixtures. A spacious new tub and a fresh countertop bring the space together, giving the room both elegance and practicality.

Heated floors are one of the most appreciated upgrades among Knoxville bathrooms. Instead of stepping onto cold tile on winter mornings, homeowners enjoy gentle, even warmth that makes the entire space feel more inviting. It’s a small detail with a big impact, especially in East Tennessee’s colder months.

A new tub can be transformative, too. Whether you prefer long soaks or need a quiet way to unwind, the right tub turns an ordinary bathroom into a calm retreat. Paired with durable, low-maintenance countertops, these upgrades elevate the look and feel of the entire room.

    Modern Fixtures That Work Smarter
Updating plumbing fixtures does so much more than improve the design. Modern faucets, showerheads, and toilets offer better performance and efficiency. They use less water, save energy, and help lower monthly utility bills—an important consideration for homeowners in Knoxville, Maryville, and throughout East Tennessee.

Improved internal components mean fewer leaks, clogs, and maintenance issues over time. And with so many finish options available, homeowners can easily personalize the space to match their style, from classic craftsman homes in Maryville to modern Knoxville homes in the Bearden and Farragut area.

A Smart Investment That Adds Home Value
A well-designed bathroom renovation consistently ranks among the top returns on investment for homeowners. Updated bathrooms are a major selling point for Knoxville and Maryville homebuyers. This remodel includes everything buyers look for: modern fixtures, efficient systems, improved storage, updated lighting, and quality materials.

The improved layout, rebuilt closets, and sleek new finishes help the space feel larger, cleaner, and more functional. These changes enhance everyday living while also increasing long-term home value.

    A Fully Transformed Bathroom
This project is a beautiful example of how transformative a complete bathroom renovation can be. With rebuilt closets, heated floors, all-new cabinets, updated lighting, refreshed finishes, and a new tub and countertop, this bathroom now offers the comfort, order, and serenity the homeowners hoped for.

At Kairos, we believe your home should support your life, not complicate it. For families and homeowners across the Greater Knoxville area , our renovations are designed to make every day easier, brighter, and more beautiful.

If you’re dreaming of a bathroom that feels like a peaceful retreat and reduces the chaos in your home, now is the perfect time to take the next step. Get in touch with us to talk about transforming your space and discover what’s possible.

A Better Way to Renovate: The Kairos Construction Group Process

At Kairos Construction Group, we believe your home renovation should feel just as intentional as the home you’re dreaming of. From the first phone call to the final walk-through, we’ve built a process that’s rooted in clarity, collaboration, and craftsmanship. Whether you’re updating a single space or transforming your entire Knoxville home, here’s what you can expect when working with our team:

    1. Initial Outreach
It all begins with a conversation. When you fill out our Contact Form or give us a call, we want to hear what’s motivating your renovation—whether it’s outdated features, the need for a bathroom that brings calm instead of stress, or the desire to create spaces that better fit your family and lifestyle.

We’ll also talk about what’s prompting you to take action now. Has something shifted—like kids moving out, aging parents moving in, or finally reaching a point where you’re ready to invest in your forever home? What’s changed that has you reaching out today?

We’ll ask about the problems you’re facing, the pain points in your current layout, and any early ideas or inspiration you have in mind. This first step helps us understand your goals and determine whether we’re the right fit for your project.
    2. Send Us Photos
Once we’ve connected, we’ll ask you to send us photos via text or email of your current space and any inspiration images you’ve collected—Pinterest boards, saved Instagram posts, magazine clippings, or anything else that shows your style. This gives us a better visual foundation as we start thinking through potential solutions.

Text us photos at 865-500-0525 or Email: chris@buildwithkairos.com
    3. Second Phone Call + Ballpark Estimate
After reviewing your photos and ideas, we’ll schedule a follow-up call to provide more specific feedback. This is where we help clarify what’s feasible, what’s most efficient, and what kind of budget range you’re looking at. You’ll get a ballpark estimate at this stage—so you can decide if you want to take the next step.
    4. Proposal Creation
To move forward, we develop a comprehensive scope of work that includes material ideas, layout suggestions, and a clear project outline based on detailed measurements and your goals. We focus on delivering a full scope proposal with clear, itemized details on what is and isn’t included in the remodel itself.

If you’re looking for more visual direction—such as drawings, renderings, or mood boards with specific finish selections—we can recommend trusted designers or design firms who can offer that level of service. We’re also happy to collaborate with a designer you already know and trust. This kind of design support is typically a separate investment and is handled through a separate agreement with the designer.

Here’s what to expect in terms of proposal costs:
      Kitchen or Bathroom Proposal: $1,500
      Whole House Proposal: $3,500

These fees go toward the cost of your renovation if you sign with us—because we believe your investment in planning should count.
    5. Contract & Deposit
Once the proposal is finalized and you’re ready to move forward, we’ll sign a contract and collect a deposit—minus the $1,500 or $3,500 you already paid for the proposal. This locks in your project timeline and confirms your place on our schedule.
    6. Select Your Start Date
We’ll coordinate a start date based on your needs and our availability. We’ll also begin ordering materials and prepping our team—so everything is ready to go from day one.
    7. Build & Renovate
Now the real transformation begins. Our team of expert builders and craftsmen work with care, precision, and constant communication. You’ll get regular updates, respectful jobsite etiquette, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing your home is in good hands.
    8. Final Walk-Through
Before we wrap, we’ll schedule a walk-through to review every detail of the finished work. We’ll go over the punch list (if needed), answer any final questions, and make sure you’re 100% satisfied. This isn’t just about finishing the job—it’s about building a space that feels like home.
